Quiet luxury, and why we're strict about it.
"Quiet luxury" gets used loosely — sometimes it just means "expensive and beige." We mean something narrower: clothing made so well that the maker doesn't need to write their name on it. The cut, the cloth and the construction do the introducing.
TaciTmag exists for readers who can tell the difference but not always name it — the horn button instead of the branded one, the unlined shoulder instead of the padded one, the mill-dyed wool instead of the piece-dyed one. Each profile ends with one such detail: the tell.
We are not a shop. There are no prices, no carts, no affiliate links — only a short profile, the tell, and one link out to the house's own site. What you do next is between you and them.
-
No visible branding
The house's name should not need to appear on the garment for it to be recognised.
-
Construction over cost
We select for cut and cloth, not for how expensive a piece is allowed to look.
-
Named makers and mills
Where a house names its mill or maker, we do too — provenance is part of the tell.
-
Longevity of design
We favour houses whose shapes outlast a season, over ones that chase one.
